January, 1989
Haines Maxwell started Maxwell & Associates, Corporate
Promotions, in Fort Mill, SC with a 1986 VW Jetta, a
handful of catalogs and a mouth.
August, 1995
After joining and spending several years with a larger,
promotional firm through the early 90’s, Maxwell
& Associates was “reborn” and soon received
much needed help and encouragement with the additions
of Gail Wherry and Steve Walker. World-wide Headquarters
moved to the Cotswold area of Charlotte, NC on Sharon
Amity. Folks everywhere began to exclaim, “You
sell the Neatest Stuff!”
December, 2000
Blessed with additional team members and clients that
kept buying lots of Neat Stuff, the Maxwell gang joined
forces with Western Associates out of Marion, KS, purveyors
of Neat Stuff since 1956!. This move enabled us to continue
to grow, service our clients and pay our bills!
July, 2004
We got tired of working so we thought it would be more
fun to go back to college. No schools would let us in
so we started our own- Neat Stuff University. Even though
we need to keep working we’re having a blast “enrolling”
clients as NSU students and teaching them the finer
details of Corporate Apparel, Promotional Items and
other Neat Stuff through periodic e-mails and pop quizzes.
September, 2004
Branch Campus locations of NSU open at Canyons Restaurant
in Blowing Rock, NC and the Lost Dog Café at
Folly Beach, SC. Excellent spots for reflecting on God’s
creation and relaxing – two requirements of Neat
Stuff U. students.
